Andy was born and raised on Vancouver Island and has lived in the town of Crofton since 1968.
His passion for art began at an early age and continued through high school. It was in high school that he was introduced to the world of drafting, and his focus shifted from free hand sketching to the precision lines of mechanical design.
After joining the work force the art activities were put on the shelf for most of the next forty years, with only the odd sketch or doodle being produced during that time. It wasn’t until retirement that the passion for the world of art reemerged. After a few sessions of drawing and colouring with his grandsons, the artistic fire was relit.
Andy still enjoys sketching but is also moving into different art mediums. He is now working in watercolours and acrylics as well.

Title - "Maple Mountain"
Inspiration - I enjoy putting details into my paintings, and the totems at the start of the bike trails at Maple Mountain Park had just what I was looking for.
